brief information
Guggulsterones (Guggul) are the main resin component of the Commiphora mukul plant, known as the Guggul tree. The plant grows in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. For the production of additives, plant juice is used.
Guggul is used as an ingredient to stimulate the function of the thyroid gland, the hormones of which contribute to the reduction of fat mass. Guggulsterones are widely used in fat burners. The effectiveness of the supplement is confirmed by a study published in Current Therapeutic Research, which compared the results in reducing the percentage of body fat with and without the use of guggul, under equal other conditions. The supplement group lost weight significantly more than the control group.
In addition, there is evidence that these substances reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood and harmful low-density lipoproteins and triglycerides, these are types of fats that cause narrowing of the arteries (in particular coronary arteries, provoking the development of angina pectoris and heart attack). It is believed that guggulsterones have an anti-inflammatory effect, therefore, the use of supplements based on them for arthritis, joint and ligament injuries is justified. In addition, they can be used for acne, which is often associated with the use of anabolic steroids.
