Description
What does AAKG mean?
AAKG stands for Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate.
What is the difference between L-arginine and alpha-ketoglutarate?
L-arginine is just another name for the amino acid, arginine, which is a semi-essential amino acid. This means that it is not only found in foods, but is also produced by the human body – in this case, from glutamine via citrulline. The body uses arginine to produce biochemicals, enzymes and proteins.
AAKG, on the other hand, is a salt of the amino acid arginine and alpha-ketoglutarate, which are linked together. The two are often combined and offered as supplements such as pre-workouts.
Many forms of arginine have been developed to improve efficiency and absorption. Our AAKG differs from many 1:1 forms on the market in that AAKG offers a 2:1 ratio. This means that our Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate is made up of two Arginine molecules attached to one Alpha-Ketoglutarate molecule.
- Contains arginine and alpha-ketoglutarate
- Manufactured in a 2:1 ratio (arginine and alpha-ketoglutarate)
- Arginine is an essential amino acid.
